Window AC

While window ACs are great for smaller rooms, Split ACs have following advantages: quicker cooling, easier installation, lesser noise, more suitable for rooms with lesser ventilation, energy efficient operation & ease of service. Considering these advantages, its recommended to opt for split AC unless space for installing outdoor unit is a constraint.

Split AC

Split ACs are made up of two parts - outdoor unit & indoor unit. As the moving parts like compressor along with condenser are outside the room (outdoor unit) split ACs are more silent compared to window ACs.

Cassette AC

A ceiling- or wall-mounted or suspended air conditioner, for when space is limited, because there is no available walls to mount a split system or where there is limited ceiling space for a ducted system.

Cassette units work the same way as wall-hung split system units, with the difference being that cassettes are installed into the ceiling instead of on the wall. The indoor unit itself sits flush to your ceiling and distributes conditioned air through two, three or four sides of the unit.

Ductable AC

A ductable air conditioner is a split air conditioner in which conditioned air from the indoor unit is passed into the room using circular/ oval/ rectangular ducting. Ducting is fabricated either using galvanised steel or pre-insulated boards, or fabric.

A ductable air conditioner is normally installed either above the conditioned room or outside. Return air is collected from the room and is passed back to the air conditioner. The space where the air is conditioned and the room are always kept air tight except for some measured volume of fresh air which is needed based on defined ventilation standards.

Air Handling Unit

An Air Handling Unit often shortened to AHU, is a device used to condition and circulate air as part of a heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) program. Usually, an air handler is a huge steel box containing a blower, heating and/or cooling elements filter racks or chambers, sound attenuators, and dampers. Air handlers usually get connected to duct work that distributes the conditioned air through the building, and returns it to the AHU. Sometimes AHUs release (supply) and confess (return) air directly to and from the area provided, without tubes

VRV or VRF

VRF usually called as Variable Refrigerant Flow and VRV called as Variable Refrigerant Volume are impressive heating and cooling technologies that allow the changes in temperature in different areas of a building at different times of day. The customer sets the normal temperature that is required and the system will sustain the room in the same temperature regardless of what happens outside or in the next space.

Chillers

Chillers are refrigeration components that have an air compressor as the main component of the air conditioning. The chiller is the most expensive component of the HVAC system. Chillers generate cooling through steam pressure. The kind of chiller is connected to the type of air compressor which is used. Vapor pressure chillers are popular for beverages and water cooling. There are many other types of compressors that run many other chillers. Examples of other chillers include centrifugal and reciprocating compressors.
